God is On the Move!

I’ve discovered that one of the things I can do to eliminate stress is to be on the move with God.  God is always moving. He has things that He needs to be done on this earth. He invites us to work with Him to accomplish His plan and walk out our destinies.  

Perhaps it seems more like your destiny is to do housework constantly, to go to that same boring job again, or to always be just scraping by.  And when life looks like that we think, “There has got to be more to life than this!” We are either bored or stressed if we think we are stuck with this as our destiny.

You likely know that the life you are living now is not your destiny.  There is something inside each one of us, even most Christians, that cries for more - that knows there has to be more.  This is why we are seeing so many superhero movies right now. We all want to live exciting lives of power and adventure.  It’s put into our spiritual DNA because we are made in the image of God.

I want to tell you today that God is on the move and He is inviting you into a life of power and adventure.  A life that will not be monotonous. A life that is so big that all those things you were stressing about before will become so small.  Jesus came to give you life in abundance, to the full, till it overflows. (John 10:10 AMP)  

Whether you are frustrated with your current life or standing bewildered in the middle of a broken life, I’m telling you that can all change when you get on the move with God “who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20)

When I get my eyes off of me, my life and my problems and I read about the creation of the world or the creation of mankind or things that happened in ancient days like Satan’s fall, I realize that there is a whole reality out there that is bigger than myself.  I feel my spirit leap in connection with the truths of heaven’s kingdom realm, of who I truly am and more importantly who God truly is. He is so much bigger and greater than we recognize on any average, normal, monotonous day.  

The focus must be on God and what He is doing and what He wants done on this earth (His kingdom come, His will be done on earth as it is in heaven), not on our lives.  When we have this as our focus it will eliminate stress because it connects us with our true purpose or destiny.

What are you looking at?  What is your focus? You can find joy in the chaos and monotony of life if you are focused on the right things.

To move with God, we must see where God is moving and then adjust our lives to Him.  The focus is on God and what He is doing, not on our lives. This is what it means to have Christ living in us.  It’s Him living and doing what He wants in the earth through us. We give up our own agendas, life plans and ways.  You can only do that when you have an intimate relationship with God so that you can say, “I trust you completely. I’m willing to put myself completely in your hands because I can trust you to make it all work out so much better than I could.”  What would it look like for you to trust God completely?

“But Jesus answered them, My Father has worked [even] until now, [He has never ceased working; He is still working] and I, too, must be at [divine] work.  So Jesus answered them by saying, I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, the Son is able to do nothing of Himself (of His own accord); but He is able to do only what He sees the Father doing, for whatever the Father does is what the Son does in the same way [in His turn]. The Father dearly loves the Son and discloses to (shows) Him everything that He Himself does. And He will disclose to Him (let Him see) greater things yet than these, so that you may marvel and be full of wonder and astonishment.” (John 5:17,19-20) 

Jesus tells us God is on the move; He is always on the move.  He is still working and he will disclose to us what He is doing so we can join Him.  It’s like a human father that shows his son how to fix something around the house or change oil in a car.  He lets his son watch and shows the son what he is doing so the son can do the same things as he matures.  

Jesus got his daily guidance from the Father. He said He required it - that without it He could do nothing on His own of significance.   He saw where the Father was moving and He joined Him. I find this interesting. It answers many questions I had in the past. For instance, why didn’t Jesus raise everyone from the dead when He was here on earth?  Because He didn’t see His Father doing it. He only did what He saw His Father do.  

This will help us not to get overwhelmed in life with all the things we could or feel we should be doing.  There are a lot of good things in life we could be doing but they aren’t all where God is moving right now or not His plan for you.  

We don’t get our daily orders from God and then go out and do them.  It’s a relationship. We respond to what He is doing and His invitation to join Him.  We stay in His presence all day long. This is how our life can have significance and not be monotonous.  This is where we’ll find power and adventure. This is where stress will be eliminated.

Open your eyes and your hearts to the bigger picture of what God is doing and His heavenly realm and you'll get so excited that you won't even be thinking about the things that were stressing you out!  Respond to His royal invitation to rule and reign with Him and life will start to get exciting.
